Alternatives to Alps - Ski holidays

Bukovel, Ukraine

Winter is getting closer and along come thoughts of the ski resort to choose this year. Where to go? Mayrhofen, Cervinia, Chamonix or smth new? Would you consider to go for instance to a place like Slovenia, Poland, Slovakia, Ukraine or Russia? Sounds unsusual, doesn’t it? There are nice ski resorts in those countries really….Why would one think of going there? First of all – to discover new destinations and secondly of course which is a nice bonus – to make a good deal, because ski-passes, hotels and restaurants in these places cost much much cheaper than in usual Alps ..For example a day skipass in Chaminix will cost you 60 euros per adult and 51 for a kid, in Mayrhofen – 50 euros for an adult and 23 for a kid……a skipass in Maribor(Slovenia) will cost you 31 euros per adult, 17 per kid, in Russian Sheregesh around 20 euros per adult and free for kid up to 8 years old…..Is it worth exploring? Lets see...
